Putting Patches On Your Pack [Video]

Sew On Patches have been around for over 100 years. Used by military units to help define their regiment, were then adopted by civilians to denote everything from countries travelled to, trails visited, to religious affiliations.

In many areas it has become tradition to sew patches of trails you have hiked onto your pack.

The big challenge with sewing patches on a pack, is that if you ever decide you don’t want the pack anymore, removing the patches can damage the pack, and the patch itself. This is especially important if the patch is rare, valuable or has personal meaning to you.

In this video we demonstrate an efficient way to install patches on a pack with the possibility of easy removal in the future.

A common question about this video is where to source large sized velcro (now called “hook and loop”)? eBay is the best source.
